Transworld Business Advisors was established in 1979 by Don & Bonnie Parish in Florida in the United States. Don had come from a successful 30-year career as an IBM executive.
Andy Cagnetta, CEO & owner of Transworld Florida originally came to Transworld as a buyer looking for business opportunities from his first meeting; he knew Transworld was special and different. He was so impressed with the Transworld model he asked Don if he could work for the business. After a few years of working for Don, Andy bought Transworld and quickly grew it to the largest business brokerage in Florida.
The company was thriving but Andy envisioned even more growth. It wasn’t long before United Franchise Group CEO Ray Titus and Andy Cagnetta teamed up to form a partnership and offer Transworld Business Advisors as a franchise opportunity.

A Business Broker operates in a professional capacity to help business owners sell, and sometimes assist buyers to buy or acquire privately held businesses.
As a Business Broker you will use Transworld’s systems to appraise the business for sale, create marketing documentation, market the business, document the conditional sale and then run the Due Diligence process until the offer becomes unconditional.
Your business clients can range from small owner operators through to Mid-Sized SMEs.
02Franchise recruitment/sales
Franchise recruitment allows you as a Broker to introduce your perspective buyers to a range franchise businesses. These can range from small green field local franchises through to International Master Franchise opportunities looking for New Zealand partners.
As new options become available, you will have access to these as well.
03Franchise Development
Franchising is an area that many successful businesses are exploring as a strategy for growth. During the last economic downturn (March 2009) the ASB released a survey that said that 25% of business owners polled wished to exit their business in the next 5-10 years. How much do you need?
Like most businesses, there is a startup phase. It can take time to identify a business for sale, market it and then complete the transaction so we recommend that you have access to working capital/funds to cover 6 months of your business & personal costs. You might not need that much but it is there if you do.
Franchise Fee
The franchise fee is $89,500 + GST. You will receive a franchise territory, two weeks training in Florida in the USA and an advertising/supplies package.

Initial Training
All new Transworld franchisees attend training for two weeks at United Franchise Group’s headquarters in sunny West Palm Beach, Florida. You will learn all aspects of the Transworld system including things like prospecting, marketing, negotiation, contracts and much more.
We will also cover the 3 service/revenue pillars of the Transworld Business Advisors franchise: Business broking, Franchise consulting, and Franchise Development.
The training is extensive because we assume that our new franchisees have little industry experience and have never run a business. These systems will show you how you will build your own successful business in your local area
Your Start-Up
After you return from your training in Florida, and upon obtaining your Real Estate Salespersons License, we will assist you to implement what you have learned and put it into practice in your local territory. Having an experienced industry mentor in the early stages of building your business means you feel more comfortable and confident while gaining hands on experience in front of your clients.
Your Initial Marketing
Your initial marketing is split into two categories: Proactive strategies which you will learn during your initial training and Passive strategies which include Direct Mail, LinkedIn marketing and Google AdWords. These strategies allow you to build awareness of you as a broker while also building brand awareness in your local area.
Your Ongoing Support
As business brokers we are legislated under the REAA 2008 ACT. Under the ACT a Licensed Agent who is operating a business must ensure that all salespersons engaged by the agent are properly supervised and managed. What does this mean for you? This means you will receive ongoing support for all aspects of the business relating to the transactional practices of the business as required under the ACT.

02Meet the Team
This is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other. At Transworld Business Advisors, we specialize in building relationships, and that is no different when working with potential franchise owners. We will guide you every step of the way, including your grand opening and beyond!
03Complete Your Personal Profile
We want every franchisee to be successful when they join Transworld. For this reason, we ask that you fill out a brief background about yourself. This allows us to learn about you, your business background, questions and concerns, financial capabilities, etc.
04Receive the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD)
As a member of the Franchise Association of New Zealand we must provide you with an approved Franchise Disclosure document and Franchise Agreement. These documents will provide you with better understanding of the opportunity.
05Second meeting to answer questions
We meet again to review and answer any questions that arise from reading through the Franchise documentation. At this point we will advise you to meet with a Lawyer to go through the Franchise agreement and an Accountant to help with your possible business setup and financial requirements. We will also pass on contact details for the Franchise friendly Banks.
06Discovery Day

David Newport
Director of Transworld Business Advisors New Zealand, Licensed REAA 2008
Dave started in business sales in the mid 1990s and focused on selling franchises throughout NZ and also providing franchisee training and support. The natural progression was to move into the general business market selling where he focused on Medium to Medium-Large SMEs primarily in the Auckland market.
In 2009 he established Switch Business Ltd, which has traded successfully selling both General and Franchise businesses. While recovering from a serious accident in 2017 David decided he wanted to get involved in a business which offered him the opportunity to create a team and help others make sales, and this was the main driver which lead to the purchase of Transworld Business Advisors for NZ market.

Mark has near on 30 years of experience in the Franchising industry both in New Zealand & Australia. He has recruited over 300+ franchisees and has experience in the development of franchise systems, recruitment, operations and hands on experience as a franchisor securing the NZ rights for Hire a Hubby, building the business and selling to Fletcher Building.
He has gained extensive experience in most facets of the Motor Vehicle industry over the last 20 years-importing, distribution, wholesaling, retailing, finance and service centres.

Bill Luce, President of Transworld Business Advisors has more than 20 years of experience in global sales and executive management. Bill joined United Franchise Group in 1994 as the Director of Franchise Development. During his time in this role he designed and developed a franchise sales system that included all aspects of advertising, lead generation, software implementation, collateral material, initial prospect contact and management with Regional Vice Presidents. He continues to strengthen the foundation of the company and ensure the success of Transworld Business Advisors worldwide. Why should I franchise instead of starting my own business brokerage company?
Franchising any kind of business gives business owners a significant advantage on the competition. Franchises come with systems and processes that have been tested and have proven to work. What makes the Transworld Business Advisors opportunity special?
Once you become a Transworld Business Broker franchisee you are able to build your business for yourself but not by yourself. We will encourage you to gain your Agent’s License after you have gained three years of experience and at that point you can hire your own brokers to truly leverage your business.
Do I have to need business brokerage or franchising experience to get started?
In New Zealand, the REAA 2008 Act requires that business brokers have a real estate license, so additional training will be necessary. It is not necessary for franchisees to have industry experience, although some degree of business or real estate knowledge is a plus. At Transworld Business Advisors, you do receive two full weeks of training, as well as continuous support throughout the life of the business.
How will I build my business?
Your franchise territory is based on a logical geographic territory with a minimum of 7000 employing businesses (a minimum of one staff member over and above the owner). Our proven prospecting systems, advertising campaigns and networking systems will ensure that if you bring the effort you can quickly build your business.
How do I exit my franchise?
One of the benefits of buying a Business broker franchise is that you are the perfect person to sell your business once you reach the point you wish to exit. You will know how to appraise, market and close the sale. All we ask is that we have the right to approve the new owner before the transaction can be completed.
Can I sell a business outside my territory?
You have an exclusive marketing territory which means you can only market your services within our territory, but should you have a contact or a family member outside your territory, you are able to take that business to the market.
